What is Highland Hustle?
Think Scottish Highland dancing, add to that the odd ceilidh step set to funky high – beat music, then you get the picture!
It builds gradually so you can find a pace that is right for you. It’s unique, fun – and more to the point…it works!
Highland Hustle is a fun dance workout class inspired by Scotland with great music. Everyone, from instructors to all class participants, is encouraged to enjoy a feel-good factor and increased energy levels while working on their own fitness goals amongst a supportive group of like-minded participants.
Highland Hustle brings people together through this unique fun dance workout no matter their age, size or ability.
Founded by Highland Dance Champion Gillian Urquhart, the original and the first… Highland Hustle® was brought to Mount Gambier and South Australia for the first time by the team at the Ardlair School of Dancing in 2017.
Ardlair’s lead qualified instructor Priscilla Baker is a passionate advocate for the physical and mental health benefits of Highland Hustle and has a devoted group of regular attendees.
Ardlair’s vision for Highland Hustle is to make Scottish Dancing and movement accessible to the very young and adults alike.
From the end of 2018, Ardlair will also be offering Highland Hustle Tots classes for parents and friends with children 18 months to 4 years, while also increasing the number of Highland Hustle classes for children primary and middle school age.
We aim to really open up the benefits for everyone, no matter what age or stage of life, to enjoy Highland Hustle and to raise awareness of the essence of Scottish dance and great exercises habits for a lifelong positive impact.
